My Super Sweet Sixteen!!!

No, I wasn't on the show...but I did feel like it! On July 16th, the day after my birthday, I had my Sweet Sixteen Birthday Party! It was a fabulous evening of food, music, and dance at the Naylor Student Center at the Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth. After welcoming the guests (which were about 60 or so), we enjoyed a three-course dinner featuring salad, London Broil beef, and strawberry cheesecake. During dinner, we were serenaded by saxophone player Steve Brummet. He did a really great job and was very friendly and flexible. When dinner was over, we watched a video presentation of pictures of me growing up, from when I was born, to today, in my Sweet Sixteen dress. Then, the comedian, Co-Co, came on and made us laugh.
Finally, it was time for the climax of the night--The Sixteen Roses Dance. Steve Brummet played the piano and sang "Cinderella" by Steven Curtis Chapman. Starting with my dad, I danced with fifteen guys who each gave me a pink rose, and ended with my dad giving me a white rose, the sixteenth rose. All the guys were being such good sports about dancing and were very sweet to me.Then I gave my "thank you" speech...
...and we cut the cake!
When we got home, I got to open up my presents with my grandpa and Aunt Leni, then we all went to my grandma's house for an After Party Party, which pretty much consisted of sitting on the couch and watching TV in our comfortable clothes. :P

All in all, I had a fabulous birthday! Thank you to my family for planning the party (and paying for it!) and my friends for all their support and coming to my party. This really was a Super Sweet Sixteen!!!

Here are more pictures. I felt like a celebrity with everyone asking, "Sam! Can I take a picture with you??" =D
^The Sixteen Roses guys, minus my dad who is taking the picture.
