YPC at Student Life Camp 2009

YPC had an INCREDIBLE time at Student Life in Branson, Missouri! And now, YOU (yes, YOU!) have the chance to re-live the trip from Monday to Friday with these super, cool, amazing, wow are you serious??? pictures!!!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Day 1
At 5:30am, Monday morning, we loaded up the van/trailer and were off! The drive consisted of sleeping, eating, watching one of the Lord of the Rings or High School Musicals or Slumdog Millionaire, or screaming (which was consisted of the most).
We also came up with nicknames for each other:
(from left to right in Arkansas picture above)
  • Adrian- "Go Go Diego"
  • Jordan- "Billionaire"
  • Mr. Justus- "Curry"
  • Ian/Chummy- "Chummynator"
  • Steven- "Stebanator"
  • Chase-"Fudge"
  • Krystal- "Ruby"
  • Angel- "Poofy"
  • Sam- "Samderella"
  • Caitlin- "Christina Aguilera"
We passed through Oklahoma and Arkansas. At one point, I got so bored I scribbled "Hey There" in bold letters on a piece of paper for no particular reason at all...or so I thought... ;-)
By the way, that night we met worship leader Kristian Stanfill (he's the one talking with me in the picture above). He led the worship the entire week which meant moshing day and night all week long WOOT WOOT! And--WOW--was he a cutie in those skinny jeans!!! But putting that away, he is a great worship leader and gave all glory to God, and that deserves a bigger WOOT than anything.
Day 2
My favorite day would definitely be Tuesday. In the afternoon after Worship Service, we visited Branson Family Fun Factory where we mini-golfed and laser tagged. That night, we headed back to Worship which ended with a concert by David Crowder*Band! So, why not bring the "Hey There" sign to the mosh pit for them? Little did I know that David Crowder himself would take notice and have it posted on their keyboard! At the end, one of the staff was kind enough to get my sign autographed for me by the entire band!
Day 3
On Wednesday, we went Go-Karting. That night, it was Leeland who gave a concert for us! And that night, Krystal and I came back with a new sign that read, "HI!" Krystal held the "H" while I held the "I", and once again, Leeland Mooring and his brother Jack took notice. They pointed to us and greeted, "Hello!" Jack pointed to Krystal then put his hand over his heart. So sweet!
Day 4
On Thursday, we went to the Hollywood Wax Museum and lost our minds in the House of Mirrors. And while I bugged everybody about how Kristian Stanfill and I would be wearing the same skinny jeans that night, everyone was completely shocked to see that Kristian wore the same black plaid shirt too!!
Probably the highlight of the time occurred that night...technically, that night/next morning. While the rest of the youth group dozed off to sleep, three mindless teenagers--Adrian, Krystal, and Yours Truly--stayed up the entire night. We gave ourselves the nickname--"The Noops"--and we weren't quitters. We kept on until daybreak, watching YouTube videos, texting each other in the same room, staying away from "the evil one," hitting a teddy bear with a tennis racket, and threatening to beat each other with a stick if someone decided to go to sleep. Yes, the Noops were pretty crazy. But we'd all have to admit that was one of the best nights of our lives.
We were all so sad to go home... :,( Camp definitely made us closer, we definitely grew in our faith. Want more? Here are a few links for more camp fun!
